DeMarre Carroll Net Worth $15 Million

DeMarre fell in love with basketball at an early age, and once at John Carroll Catholic High School in his native Birmingham, DeMarre led the team to back-to-back Alabama Class 6A state titles. He received several prestigious awards, including All-State, All-Region, All-Metro, and All-District selections.

After a successful high school career, DeMarre enrolled at Vanderbilt University, and played for the Vanderbilt Commodores for two seasons, before transferring to the University of Missouri to play under his uncle, Mike Anderson. After two more years, DeMarre declared for the 2009 NBA Draft, but not before it was discovered that he had a liver disease. DeMarre complained about itchy legs and after thinking he had an allergy, it turned out to be a mysterious liver disease that would require a liver transplant, but after only 20 years, thus keeping his potential career intact.

He was chosen as the 27th pick by the Memphis Grizzlies but wasn’t given enough time on the court to showcase his skills, and instead he was sent to the NBA D-League to play for the Dakota Wizards. After two unsuccessful years under Memphis, DeMarre was traded to the Houston Rockets alongside Hasheem Thabeet and a future first-round pick, in exchange for Shane Battier and Ish Smith.

Unfortunately, he wasn’t given a chance at Houston either, and he was waived by the Rockets in April 2011. His next stop was the Denver Nuggets, for which he played in four games only, before being waived in February 2012.

He was briefly in Utah before joining the Atlanta Hawks on the 3rd August 2013, which proved to be a turning point in DeMarre’s career; in two seasons he spent in Atlanta, DeMarre averaged around 12 points per game, with 5.5 rebounds, two assists and 1.5 steals per game. In the 2014-15 season, the Hawks set an NBA month record of 17-0 in January, finsing the season 60-22, but eventually losing to the Cleveland Cavaliers in the Eastern Conference final. DeMarre subsequently left the Hawks, signing a contract with the Toronto Raptors worth $60 million over four years, which only increased his net worth to a large degree. DeMarre continued with great plays, but unfortunately his season was stopped by knee and ankle injuries which kept him sidelined for 41 games.

He was then sent to the Brooklyn Nets on the 13th July 2017 with 2018 first and second-round draft picks for Justin Hamilton. He became a starter in the Nets team and has become one of the leaders of the team, averaging double digits in points and close to 10 rebounds per game.

When it comes to his personal life, DeMarre has been married to Iesha Carroll since 2015; the couple has two children together.
